En 2014, pour le centième anniversaire du poète gallois Dylan Thomas, Dear Conjunction a mis en scène sa « pièce pour voix », Under Milk Wood. Nous vous invitons de nouveau à passer une journée, avec nous, dans le petit village de Llareggub, en compagnie de Capitaine Cat, Mme Ogmore-Pritchard, Dai Bread, Polly Garter et M. Waldo – ces derniers n’étant qu’un échantillon pittoresque des âmes de Llareggub.
Selon l’auteur, cette pièce était une réaction au bombardement d’Hiroshima, une façon de réaffirmer la beauté du monde. Certes, c’est une célébration de la beauté, mais aussi de l’amour, du langage (et l’amour du langage) – et surtout, de la vie.
In 2014, for the centenary of the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, Dear Conjunction staged his “play for voices”, Under Milk Wood.
We invite you once again to spend a day with us in the little village of Llareggub, in the company of Captain Cat, Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard, Dai Bread, Polly Garter and Mr Waldo – these are just a picturesque sample of the colourful souls of Llareggub.
According to the author, this play was a response to the bombing of Hiroshima, a way of reaffirming the beauty of the world.
Indeed, it is a celebration of beauty, but also of love, of language (and the love of language) – and above all, of life itself.
